1. INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR EXTRACTION AND SORTING CELLS FROM CULTURE DISHES
The extraction consists of high precision cell detachment process , so that even finding a intresting cell in a very tight conglomeration of other cells won’t pose any extraction problems. This is ensured by setting a very high resolution hydrodynamic extraction force and an extremely accurate positioning of the capillary cell targeted for extraction and isolation.
Micro-fluidic transport consists of a precise cell movement after extraction , within a micro-fluidic route with known characteristics ,regarding the isolation in specially prepared areas .
Isolation consists in bringing a cell from a existing group of cells from the culture dish , in a specially designed chip, so that the manipulation by conventional means (eg pipette ) by the operator, in order to perform various biomedical applications that aim working with a single cell, will be very easy. Also the chip can be designed to be detachable and the cell can be maintain in its environment for long term research process for example. More than that a special system assures the trapping for more than one single cell in the same chip. In this way it’s possible to create an artificial cell population.
